GOODBYE EVERYONE!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   W e’re at the end of the term and I’m here with my last post.😭   When I heard about the course Educational Technologies at the beginning of the term, I thought that it would be so boring and challenging for me but I was wrong!    I was waiting for some classic topics about technology but I’ve learned and I’ve accomplished a lot of different and interesting things.   First of all, when our teacher said that we were going to create our own blog pages, I was worried.   I was afraid of technology. To be honest, I’m not that close to it but I don’t have any fear anymore because I’ve seen that I could do something   on this platform. I can create, design, share the things which are beneficial both for me as a student and for my future teaching career.   When I started to do something on my blog, I realized that every task became easier for me day by day. When I go back and look at my first post, I can realize the difference. I’ve became aware of the f

WHAT IS AN INFOGRAPHIC?

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   Today’s subject is infographics. With infographics, we can tell our topic to the audience with lots of visuals, graphics and short explanations instead of thousands of sentences.   They are great materials to draw attention and in this century, knowing is not enough. We must demonstrate what we know in proper and entertaining ways.   You can create infographics about anything you want. Integrating them into the lessons may boost the learning process of students.   To be honest, while creating my infographic, I had more fun than the poster I’ve made in the last post. There were so many visuals, colors, shapes and designs that I wanted to use all of them. My task is about “my favourite Web 2.0 tools”. I chose Edmodo, Prezi and Youtube. It’s very easy to do and the style of the website I used, Piktochart , is so basic that you never get confused.   This is my infographic. I hope you like it.   Thank you for your time.   See you🙋!

MY MOVIE POSTER!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   Today, we’re going to talk about posters! As you all know, we’re familiar with the posters in every part o f our life.   As a task, we had two options. One of them was a magazine cover and the other one was a movie poster about a book we’ve read. I chose the second one and created a poster of the Blindness which I love a lot. We are as the producers of the movies and I felt like it was going to be published when I was making it. It was exciting😁💥!   ⇒You can get the image on the poster by clicking here  ⇐   At first , I was afraid of finding a proper website to make it but there are hundreds of sites on the Internet. I used PosterMyWall . It ‘s really easy to use and everything is so accessible on the screen that you never get lost.   As a teacher candidate, I find creating posters about the topics (vocabulary, grammar, social contents, ect.) in the classes is so beneficial and important to demonstrate an enjoyableness of learning. Also, we can wa

DIGITAL STORY TELLING : PSA!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   I hope you’re well. I’m here to talk about a new technological topic that we’ve learned previous weeks : Digital Story Telling! Let’s talk about it.   As you can understand from its definition, we create a story on a digital platform by recording our voice. It can be any topic, your choice. I think it boosts creativity a lot because we design our story however we want and that’s the most important thing in terms of creativity.   You can talk about a problem (local or global)to raise awareness or you can create a story based on your life and real events. Record  your voice and combine it with pictures or videos, here is your digital story😀💫! Also, there’s another way to make it by drawing some pictures, vocalizing the characters that you create and and acting out the story just with your voice! It can be so beneficial especially in pre-school education.   I and my dear friend Elif created a public service announcement (PSA) based on water pollution

CREATE YOUR OWN WALL: PADLET!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   I wasn’t active so much here because of my midterms but now I’m free😁. I'm here with another great way that we can use not just in education but in lots of areas. It’s Padlet. Let’s talk about it.   Padlet is a wall which you can create and add something online. Students can create their own walls or they can work together collaboratively. They can add photos or videos on their walls.   Actually, I had lots of papers on my wall in my room when I was studying for the university exam and they were really helpful. Think about how they can be helpful if they are more colorful and full with visuals? Since the new generation is doing everything with technology, we should prepare new technological ways to catch their attention and teach them language in an entertaining way.💫✎💥   It’s also beneficial in terms of developing their working skills in group works. Like we talked in the post Wiki (padlet is more limited in terms of accessing), it’s another

WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH WIKI!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   This week, the tool that I’m going to talk about is Wiki!   Wiki is a website where you can share lots of things. But it has a special feature: You can edit the other entries and other users can edit yours publicly. It’s so helpful to work collaboratively and see different perspectives as a one body of ideas💫!   I and my friend Elif wrote a review of an Indian movie: Dangal. You can read it by clicking here !🙌   Thank you for your time.   See you!

GREAT WAY FOR LEARNING : PODCASTING!

Image
Hello everyone🙋!   I hope you’re all well. Today, we’re going to talk about an interesting way that we can use in language classes: Podcasting🎤!   Podcast is digital audio file or series of files available on the Internet   which you can download and listen whenever and wherever you want. You can find lots of podcasts about different topics.   When I heard it in our Educational Technology class I felt anxious about creating one because I’d never heard of it before but it’s a great tool for both students and teachers. Students can create their own podcasts and listen to their own voices. They can listen to other people and improve both listening and speaking skills. Teachers can use it to integrate different topics with the class. They can want students to make some activities based on the podcast and bring their works to the class.   It was my assignment to create an idea to change the world and record it in 60 seconds as a podcast. The hardest thing was to find
